Peacock Reaches Sports Streaming Deal for U.S. Bars, Restaurants

NBCUniversal has reached a multi-year licensing deal with EverPass Media stream sports content from Peacock to bars, restaurants, and commercial establishments in the U.S.

Peacock programming to stream live in businesses will include its first exclusive NFL playoff game, more than 180 Premier League matches, and the Tour de France, Indycar races, Preakness Stakes, 2023 Rugby World Cup, Big Ten football and basketball, Notre Dame football games, the Ryder Cup and U.S. Open golf, and Spanish-language U.S. National Team soccer matches. 

EverPass Media’s investors include Red Bird Capital and 32 Equity, the strategic investment arm of the NFL. Alex Kaplan, the CEO of EverPass, previously held executive roles at DirectTV and the NBA. DirectTV partnered with EverPass in May to distribute NFL Sunday Ticket to bars, restaurants, and hotels in a similar arrangement to Peacock’s new deal.

Peacock will stream an NFL Wild Card Playoff game in prime time on Saturday, Jan. 13. The streamer will also show its first regular season game on Dec. 23 when the Buffalo Bills play the Los Angeles Chargers. In July, NBC said Peacock had reached 24 million subscribers, just slightly below the 25.2 million subscribers Disney recently reported for ESPN+.

“Peacock has one of the most extensive live sports offerings of any streamer in the U.S., and this exclusive agreement for the commercial distribution of its sports programming is an important milestone for EverPass,” Kaplan said in a statement. “We’re excited to continue building our content library and network of distribution partners to become the preeminent premium sports and entertainment content platform for commercial establishments.”
