Gary Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The day NFL fans have been waiting for since the Super Bowl is finally here. The first round of the 2023 NFL Draft starts tonight, impacting the future of all 32 NFL teams. To give us a preview of what to expect tonight, we are joined by ESPN’s NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller.

We also hear from our senior writer Mike McCarthy on ESPN’s role in popularizing the NFL Draft. Long before ESPN came around, the draft was conducted in private hotel ballrooms. McCarthy details how we went from secret hotel meetings to one of the most popular sporting events on television.
