LIV Golf’s New TV Deal to Air Some Rounds on Fox Business Network

LIV Golf is entering its 2025 season with a new media rights deal with Fox Sports. One wrinkle is that some action will end up on the Fox Business Network.

LIV Golf and Fox Sports formally announced their multi-year media rights deal, which had been anticipated since late last year, Thursday morning. And there’s an interesting wrinkle.

While the majority of LIV action will air on Fox or FS1, select rounds will be broadcast on FS2 and even Fox Business Network. The financial news channel claims to be available in more than 60 million U.S. homes, but it obviously is not a staple for sports viewing.

Specific details about viewing specifics for each tournament will be released in the coming weeks. The 2025 LIV season begins Feb. 6 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with 14 three-day events running through late August.

Despite the oddity of LIV ending up on Fox Business Network, at least occasionally, the new deal should give the league, which is heading into its fourth season, its best exposure yet on the main Fox network.

For the past two seasons, LIV’s U.S. TV partner was The CW. After some initially low ratings, LIV stopped reporting viewership figures. In 2022, LIV was solely broadcast on YouTube in the U.S. Moving forward, all LIV coverage will also be streamed on the Fox Sports app and LIV Golf+.

Fox will be paying LIV a media rights fee, Front Office Sports has learned, although specific financial details are not available. The CW was believed to have an ad-revenue-sharing agreement with LIV, in place of a standard rights fee.

In 2022, LIV and Fox had conversations about a media rights deal, but that ultimately did not materialize. 
Last year, LIV began working with the powerful sports agency CAA—which also represents the PGA Tour—in its search for media rights and corporate sponsorship deals.
