Over the last few years, the bike sharing industry has seen massive growth thanks to large influxes of venture capital.

One of the companies that has ridden the wave is LimeBike, and after closing its Series B in October, the company is valued north of $225 million just over a year after being founded.

With Arizona being one of LimeBike’s top markets and the company having been founded in the Bay Area, the ability to marry supporting the hometown team and allowing spring training fans to utilize LimeBike’s services was a no-brainer for the company.

“This is an exciting opportunity for LimeBike to support our home team in a community we already work so closely with,” said Caen Contee, LimeBike VP of Marketing and Partnerships. “We hope this is just the beginning of an awesome partnership with the Giants, and we’re excited to be able to provide our services to the many Phoenix-area residents and visitors who will watch the games.”

During every home game at Scottsdale Stadium LimeBike will station bikes at the stadium to provide fans with a reliable, sustainable and affordable transportation option.

Jason Pearl, the Giants Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Business Development, echoed the excitement of Contee and LimeBike.

“The Giants are excited to partner with LimeBike to offer our fans in Scottsdale this great transportation option for getting to and from the park.”

With services like LimeBike, fans download an app, scan a QR code on the bike to unlock the lock, and then are able to ride the bike for $1 every 30 minutes. When the ride is finished, riders simply lock the bike’s back wheel and responsibly park between the pedestrian-designated sidewalk and the street curb, or at a bike rack.

For teams that have already partnered with rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft, something like this allows fans the opportunity to have one more option to get to the stadium on game day.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
