DirectTV has reached a multi-year renewal agreement with the NFL to carry NFL Network and NFL RedZone on all its platforms, including DirectTV, DirecTV Stream, and U-verse.

The new deal marks the first time DirectTV and DirectTV Stream customers can access NFL RedZone. The Scott Hanson-hosted RedZone will debut this season on DirectTV, as NFL Media will produce the show.

“This deal strengthens our NFL relationship as it includes expanded carriage of NFL Network and all the best action from Sunday’s games with NFL RedZone, which is now available to customers across all three DIRECTV platforms,” said DirectTV chief content officer Rob Thun.

Hanson has hosted the NFL’s version of RedZone for the past 13 seasons, but Andrew Siciliano has hosted the original DirectTV Red Zone show since 2005. Siciliano, who also works for NFL Network, will no longer have his Red Zone show appear on DirectTV as part of Google-owned YouTube’s $14 billion deal to takeover NFL Sunday Ticket, carried by DirecTV since 1994. Google’s deal begins with the upcoming 2023 NFL season.

While Google’s Sunday Ticket deal is to stream games to fans on YouTubeTV in their homes, DirecTV has retained rights to distribute the out-of-market package to bars, restaurants, and hotels. More than 300,000 commercial establishments in the U.S. are expected to carry Sunday Ticket.
