Jrue Holiday Makes $306,000 in 8 Seconds with Bucks

  • By playing eight seconds on Sunday, Jrue Holiday earned a $306,000 bonus for playing in 67 games.
  • He can make an extra $100,000 if he’s selected to one of the All-NBA Defensive Teams.
David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Bucks sat all of their starters in their final game of the season — except one.

Before Sunday, Jrue Holiday had appeared in 66 games, averaging 18.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

As part of his $32.3 million contract this season, he needed to play in 67 games and average at least 3.2 rebounds in order to trigger a major bonus.

Holiday played eight seconds before committing a foul and exiting the game — $306,000 richer than when he entered. With the payday secured, the Bucks guard spent the rest of the game on the bench.

The 31-year-old is in the first year of a four-year, $134.9 million contract with Milwaukee. He’s the third-highest-paid player on the Bucks and 22nd in the NBA by annual salary.

Another bonus worth $100,000 could be on the way if Holiday makes one of three All-NBA Defensive Teams.
