Jaguars Choose Orlando for 2027 Home Games: Report

The Jaguars have reportedly decided to make Orlando’s Camping World Stadium their temporary venue during the 2027 season.

The Jaguars have reportedly decided to make Orlando’s Camping World Stadium their temporary venue during the 2027 season while EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville is closed as a $1.4 billion renovation project is completed.

Camping World Stadium has been selected over “The Swamp” at the University of Florida (Ben Hill Griffin Stadium), according to the Orlando Sentinel, pending approval by the other 31 NFL team owners (typically 24 votes are needed for resolutions).

The two central Florida venues had been widely believed to be the finalists for the Jaguars’ single-season move, after other options like Daytona International Speedway, the home of the Daytona 500, were deemed unviable.

Camping World Stadium, roughly 140 miles south of the Jaguars’ current home, is owned by the city of Orlando, and operated by the Greater Orlando Sports Commission. With a capacity of roughly 60,000, the venue is currently the home of two college football bowl games: the Citrus Bowl and Pop-Tarts Bowl.

On Friday, a Jaguars spokesperson told Front Office Sports, “We continue to work through the process of identifying a location and presenting that recommendation to the NFL owners for a vote. It is our hope we have an answer soon rather than later.” The NFL did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

NFL owners have special virtual league meetings scheduled for Dec. 9-10. It’s possible they could vote on the Jaguars’ stadium situation in one of those sessions.

Jaguars president Mark Lamping told the Orlando Sentinel, “As far as the league is concerned, I don’t know that they put as much of a priority on this as we would like them to. We wish the time frame (on the decision) would be earlier, but that’s because our fans want to know and the people in Orlando want to know.”

Jaguars legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Tony Boselli, who stepped into the new role of EVP of football operations for Jacksonville this year, has been working with Lamping on the 2027 stadium search.

“We’ll play anywhere,” Boselli told FOS in February. “I’ll work closely with him as he makes the best business decision.”

In addition to playing most of their home games in Orlando in 2027, the Jaguars will also have the option of moving up to three home games to London, if they choose. Jacksonville annually plays one home game at Wembley Stadium, and in 2023 and 2024 also played a road game in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
