President Donald Trump’s portfolio of golf courses hosting professional tournaments continues to grow.

The DP World Tour has announced that next year’s Irish Open will be played at Trump International Golf Links Ireland in Doonbeg for the first time. Rory McIlroy won this year’s Irish Open, played last week just outside Dublin. Next year’s edition will mark at least the fifth major golf tournament at a Trump-owned course over a two-year span:

  • 2025: LIV Golf Miami, Trump National Doral
  • 2025: DP World Tour Scottish Championship, Trump International Golf Links Scotland
  • 2026: PGA Tour Miami Championship, Trump National Doral
  • 2026: LIV Golf Virginia, Trump National Washington, D.C.
  • 2026: DP World Tour Irish Open, Trump International Golf Links Ireland

Trump International Golf Links Scotland also hosted the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship—a tournament for men ages 50 and above—the week before this year’s Scottish Championship. The Scottish Championship was not on the DP World Tour’s initial announcement of its 2026 schedule.

Doral has hosted a LIV event each of the past four years, while Trump Bedminster hosted the league in 2022 and 2023, and the D.C. course previously hosted LIV in 2023, too.

The Major Question

While Trump-owned courses continue to land high-profile, big-money tournaments, efforts to host a men’s major championship still remain.

The R&A remains open to returning the Open Championship (also known as the British Open) to the Trump Turnberry golf club, which last hosted the major in 2009, five years before the Trump Organization purchased it in 2014 for $60 million. However, R&A CEO Mark Darbon in July said “some big logistical challenges” at Turnberry are complicating that move.

Bedminster hosted the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open, which Trump attended while he was the sitting president during his first term in office.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
