Peter Schmeichel, who played goalie for Denmark in four World Cups and eight seasons for Manchester United in the English Premier League, will be a studio analyst for Fox’s coverage of the World Cup in North America this summer, the network confirmed to Front Office Sports

The World Cup, which is happening across 16 different cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, kicks off June 11 with the Final on July 19.

“Peter brings an incredible perspective to our presentation and was phenomenal in studio with us in 2024,” Fox Sports president and executive producer Brad Zager said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to having his insights on Fox Sports’ coverage this summer as the newest international addition to the roster.”

Schmeichel, who previously worked for Fox for the 2024 UEFA Euro tournament, said, “Between all the fans that will be present and the amazing atmospheres, I’m looking forward to experiencing everything the tournament brings with it and sharing my insights with viewers.”

Fox will air 70 matches and there will be 34 on FS1. All 104 matches will stream in 4K on the Fox One streaming service.

Other previously announced broadcasters in Fox’s studio include host Rebecca Lowe and analysts Javier “Chicharito” Hernàndez, Thierry Henry, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Clarence Seedorf.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
