    Mets Owner Steve Cohen Lobbying for Queens Casino

    If Steve Cohen gets his way, the New York borough of Queens could get a new casino.

    The Mets owner has reportedly dispatched several of his close associates to lobby New York City mayor Eric Adams and borough officials for one of the state’s three downstate commercial casino licenses.

    If successful, Cohen would reportedly be eyeing Willets Point — located right next to Citi Field — for the prospective establishment.

    Cohen has been working with investment bank Union Gaming to choose a casino company partner for the project.

    Hard Rock is reportedly the front-runner at the moment, but Sands Hotel and Casino has also been in talks with the 66-year-old billionaire.

    A casino isn’t the only major construction project potentially on the horizon in Queens: Adams is reportedly set to approve a new stadium for MLS club NYCFC in the same Willets Point neighborhood.
