U.S. President Donald Trump announced Saturday on social media that Dana White, the CEO of the UFC, has been offered the White House press secretary position.

Trump, in a post on Truth Social, urged White to accept the job and said he asked White to have several UFC fighters as assistants.

“I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States,” Trump wrote. “I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country. … We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!”

White was not available to comment. He posted a photo to Instagram of himself in the White House press briefing room and wrote: “On to the next chapter.”

The UFC and the White House did not immediately respond to requests by Front Office Sports for further comment.

White is a longtime Trump associate. He introduced Trump at the 2024 Republican National Convention and spoke at the 2016 and 2020 Republican conventions.

In June, a UFC event, called UFC Freedom 250, was held on the South Lawn of the White House.

Katie Zacharia, a conservative commentator who’d worked at the Trump Media & Technology Group, left as the White House press secretary last month after only five days in the role. She’d succeeded Karoline Leavitt, who left in August after the birth of her second child.

The offer to White comes in the aftermath of the Republicans’ heavy losses in this week’s midterm elections.

Trump announced Friday that Stephen Miller would replace Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff.
