Former NBA player Dion Waiters has listed his 14,000-square-foot Miami-area home for $18 million. The Pinecrest, Fla., mansion has nine bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a home theater, and several swimming pools surrounded by Palm trees.

Waiters, a Philadelphia-born shooting guard drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2012, hasn’t played in the NBA since winning a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.

His style of play—never shy to take a shot or run isolation plays—earned him the nickname “Waiters Island” during his NBA career, which Waiters has kept as a moniker for his mansion.

“[Waiters] “calls it Waiters Island because it’s his own private getaway,” the home’s listing agent Ashley Michelle Velez told Realtor.com. “On that property, you don’t feel like anybody is around you. It’s a lot of land for somebody who wants to be private. It feels like it is his own resort, and he loves the house.”

Velez said that the South Florida home also boasts an outdoor kitchen and yard space to add a tennis or full basketball court. Waiters earned about $67 million from his earnings in his NBA career over eight seasons between the Cavaliers, Thunder, Heat, and Lakers.
