Rams QB Matthew Stafford Buys $10.5M, 8BR SoCal Estate

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is continuing to establish himself as a mainstay in one of Southern California’s most exclusive, affluent areas.

After selling their Hidden Hills estate for $21 million in June, Stafford and his wife, Kelly, purchased a property in the same gated community for $10.5 million — a hefty discount from the $13.7 million asking price, per Dirt.

The Staffords closed on the 11,320-square-foot house on 1.52 acres of land last year, but the sale was only made public recently. They bought it from shopping center magnate Bill Hayes and his wife, Susan, who turned the land around the property into a winery called Wish Vineyards.

While many Hidden Hills mansions — including the Staffords’ old abode — are modern, this one was built in 1988 and boasts a more traditional style with a red-brick exterior. The vineyard occupies much of the outdoor space, but there’s still room for a pool, hot tub, and covered patio with grill area.

Inside the main house, there are seven ensuite bedrooms, as well as a wet bar, gourmet kitchen, library with a fireplace, and, of course, a spacious wine cellar. The estate also features a detached guest house.

Many of Stafford’s Rams colleagues also reside in the swanky Hidden Hills, including WR Cooper Kupp, CB Jalen Ramsey, DT Aaron Donald, and head coach Sean McVay.

Stafford’s presence in the affluent neighborhood is more than justified: After winning Super Bowl LVI with L.A., the 34-year-old signed a four-year, $160 million extension with $130 million guaranteed. Per Spotrac, he has earned over $300 million from contracts in his career.
