Manchester United will be turning to modern architectural experts as they approach redeveloping their classic grounds.
The club have appointed Legends International and Populous to lead their consulting teams as they begin plans for renovations of Old Trafford, which are expected to cost over $261 million.
Most recently, both firms were behind the construction of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which opened in April 2019.
Legends International is currently working on renovations for Barcelona and Real Madrid’s stadiums in Spain, and was involved in redevelopment of Liverpool’s Anfield, which was completed in 2016.
Populous has taken on several projects in the United States, building Allianz Field in Minnesota and renovating Texas A&M’s Kyle Field.
Manchester United have also begun the process of revamping their training grounds, tapping design firm KSS to lead that project.
MUFC currently sit seventh in the Premier League table — one spot out of European play for the 2022-23 season.
