Knicks Ticket Prices Dip as Josh Hart Laments ‘Ridiculous’ Costs

The get-in price for Monday’s Game 3 has dipped to around $7,000, down from a high of over $11,000.

The blazing ticket market for Game 3 of the NBA Finals has started to show some signs of mild softening, as Knicks guard Josh Hart expressed dismay over the wild prices.

Two pairs of tickets were available for under $7,000 per ticket on TickPick early Sunday afternoon. While this could certainly not be characterized as “inexpensive,” the drop comes after the get-in price had previously reached $11,000 per ticket

During media availability on Sunday, Hart expressed excitement about the electric atmosphere looming at Madison Square Garden as the Knicks hold a 2-0 series lead over the Spurs, but lamented that a number of die-hard fans have been priced out by the torrid secondary market.

“I kind of wish the ticket prices weren’t as crazy as they are,” Hart told reporters. “I feel like a lot of people who have been waiting for this moment for a very long time unfortunately aren’t able to get into the building when the cheapest ticket is $7,000-8,000. … That’s ridiculous. It should still be rocking, but obviously wish those were a little cheaper.”

The Knicks released a small smattering of tickets in a fan pre-sale Sunday.

Meanwhile, the least expensive tickets for Game 4, a potential close-out game for the Knicks, are still hovering around $12,000 per seat. This also represents a drop from Saturday morning, when the get-in price was about $15,000.

For comparison, tickets for the Super Bowl went under $4,000 for the get-in price in the lead-up to Patriots-Seahawks this past February. The current cheapest pair of tickets for the World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey next month is about $7,500 per seat.
