The Highest-Paid NFL Punters in 2025

Only 10 punters earn at least $3 million annually.

PackersNews

NFL punters are said to have the cleanest jerseys on the football field, with some punters only hitting the field a handful of times per game. Still, in tight contests where field position becomes crucial, punters earn their money’s worth.

Michael Dickson is the highest-paid NFL punter in 2025, earning $3.7 million with the Seahawks. Dickson was drafted by the Seahawks in 2018 and signed a four-year, $14.7 million extension in 2021.

He’s earned First Team All-Pro honors and a Pro Bowl nod in his seven-year career.

Second is the Lions’ Jack Fox at $3.5 million. Fox signed an extension worth $14.1 million to keep him in Detroit through the 2026-2027 season.

Bryan Anger of the Cowboys takes third, earning $3.2 million annually. In March, Anger signed a two-year, $6.4 million contract to stay in Dallas.

Tied for fourth at $3 million are seven players: A.J. Cole of the Raiders, Cameron Johnston of the Steelers, JK Scott of the Chargers, Jamie Gillian of the Giants, Logan Cooke of the Jaguars, Riley Dixon of the Bucs, and Tommy Townsend of the Texans.

Punters consistently rank in the bottom five in salary among position groups.

Michael Dickson is the highest-paid punter in NFL history. Still, his $3.7 million annual salary is half that of the current highest-paid kicker, Harrison Butker, and 16 times less than that of Dak Prescott, the NFL’s highest-paid player in AAV (average annual value) at $60 million.
