Nike Officially Unveils Kobe 6 Protro ‘Mambacita’ Photos

  • Nike released images of the first sneakers under their renewed partnership with the Kobe Bryant Estate.
  • All net proceeds from the sneakers will go to the Mambacita Sports Foundation.
Nike

Vanessa Bryant and the Kobe Bryant Estate announced last month that they reached new terms with Nike to continue making Kobe sneakers.

On Wednesday, Nike released images of the first sneakers under the renewed partnership: the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita” — a black-and-white shoe recognizing Bryant’s relationship with his daughter, Gigi.

All net proceeds will go to the Mambacita Sports Foundation, the Bryant Estate’s nonprofit organization dedicated to underserved girls and boys in sports.

“Kobe Bryant means so much to so many of us, not just NBA fans but globally beyond the game,” Nike President and CEO John Donahoe said in March.

“Together with Vanessa, we hope to honor Kobe and Gigi by championing a new generation for many years to come.”

No launch details have yet been disclosed by the brand, but that’ll likely change now that images have been released.
