Nick Saban’s Car Dealership Group Moves Into Florida For $700M

  • Dream Motor Group, which Saban co-owns, has bought two Mercedes-Benz dealerships in South Florida for approximately $700 million.

As college football’s highest-paid head coach, Alabama’s Nick Saban has plenty of money to spend on his off-field business pursuits.

Dream Motor Group, which Saban co-owns, has bought two Mercedes-Benz dealerships — as well as an auto repair shop and a former police station — in South Florida for approximately $700 million, according to Automotive News. Previous reports had pegged the purchase closer to $150 million.

The newly purchased locations will be DMG’s first in Florida; the group owns two Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the Birmingham area, as well as single dealerships in the Baton Rouge, Houston, and Nashville areas.

Dream Motor also owns an Infiniti dealership in Birmingham and a Ferrari dealership in Nashville. Saban’s offseason vacation to Italy was supposedly in part a business trip for his Ferrari interests, per AL.com

While he’s always trying to beat SEC rivals on the field, in his spare time, Saban is sometimes helping them find cars: Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins told reporters in July that he bought a Mercedes from DMG’s Birmingham location using money he’s made from NIL deals.

The move into South Florida for Saban’s dealerships complements the move the Crimson Tide head coach made himself: In August, Saban closed on a $17.5 million home on Jupiter Island.
