WNBA players may be overlooked by some who have historically focused solely on the NBA, but the league’s presence is being felt. With over two million viewers and plans to double their media rights, the WNBA is headed towards greater visibility.
Small forwards tend to be some of the most versatile members of WNBA rosters, and the highest-paid small forwards earn well over $150K annually.
DeWanna Bonner earns $200K with the Sun to lead as the highest-paid WNBA small forward. Bonner signed a 1-year deal in February with Connecticut after spending most of her career in Phoenix.
She’s the only small forward in the league to earn at least $200K. Bonner is also the only small forward to have earned over $1 million in her career.
Second on the list is Isabelle Harrison earning $160K with the Sky.
She’s earned $723K with four teams in her 6-year career. Harrison signed a 3-year deal with Chicago in 2023 for $320K.
Third on the list is Aerial Powers of the Dream. She had been playing for the Lynx before the switch to Atlanta in February. She’s second in career earnings to DeWanna Bonner at $781K in seven years.
Coming in fourth is Harrison’s Dream teammate, Nia Coffey. She makes $150K leading Atlanta’s frontcourt. Coffey secured a $60K raise in salary from her previous contract with the Sparks.
Only eight of the 20 highest-paid small forwards earn at least $100K annually.
The Sparks lead all teams with four players featured among the highest-paid small forwards. The Sky and the Liberty both have three small forwards making the list.
