Former Las Vegas Raiders President Dan Ventrelle was tapped as WWE’s executive VP of talent, the wrestling promotion announced on Thursday.

Ventrelle departed the Raiders abruptly in May after 18 years with the organization. He said in a statement to Front Office Sports at the time that he was “fired in retaliation for raising” hostile workplace concerns.

Ventrelle will supervise the WWE’s talent department and report to Paul Levesque, aka the retired wrestler Triple H, who was promoted earlier this week as the company’s chief content officer.

“As a lifelong fan, it is an honor to join the world’s premier sports entertainment company,” Ventrelle said in a statement. “I am inspired by the vision that [WWE Chairwoman and co-CEO] Stephanie [McMahon], [co-CEO] Nick [Khan], and Paul have for the future and excited to further the commitment to deliver exceptional talent to the WWE Universe.”

When Ventrelle exited the Raiders, he said he retained an attorney.

At the same time WWE announced Ventrelle’s hire, the company said it had also brought in  Maurice F. Edelson as its executive VP and chief legal officer. Edelson spent 16 years at Time Inc. and, most recently, worked nearly eight years as VP and general counsel at The Juilliard School.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
