Patrick Mahomes Deepens His Adidas Ties, Debuts Golf Gear Line

Patrick Mahomes has extended his long-standing Adidas deal, adding a new branded golf line to his growing endorsement portfolio.

Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

Patrick Mahomes is adding to his endorsement empire with an Adidas contract extension that includes a new branded golf line.

The deal was announced by Mahomes’s agency, Equity Sports, on Wednesday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mahomes’s ties with Adidas run deep, as he signed with the brand in 2017, the year he was drafted by the Chiefs. They have launched multiple signature shoes together, including the Mahomes 1 Impact FLX and the Mahomes 2. Last year, they collaborated on six NIL deals for athletes across multiple sports at Mahomes’s alma mater, Texas Tech.

The news of Mahomes’s extension with Adidas came alongside a new commercial in which the Chiefs quarterback drowned his Thanksgiving meal in ketchup. On the holiday, the Chiefs will play the Cowboys in a game that industry observers believe could set NFL regular-season viewership records

Mahomes has become very marketable as his success on the field has been undeniable. He is in his ninth season (eighth as a starter), and in that time the Chiefs have won three Super Bowls and have advanced to two more. He is a three-time Super Bowl MVP and two-time AP MVP. His other endorsement deals include State Farm, Oakley, DraftKings, T-Mobile, and Coors Light.

Earlier this year, Mahomes was asked about his golf handicap. “I say seven, but it’s probably closer to four or five,” Mahomes said. “Don’t tell anybody.”

It is not entirely unprecedented for football players to launch golf apparel lines. Tom Brady launched one in 2022, and Reggie Bush launched one with TravisMathew last year.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
