Aaron Judge Cashes In on Record Rookie Season

A sponsorship deal with Pepsi is just one of the few he has signed in recent weeks.

Adding another impressive endorsement to his resume, 25-year-old NY Yankee phenom, Aaron Judge, signed a multi-year deal with Pepsi as they work towards a new media campaign focused on the 2018 MLB Opening Day.

Pepsi joins other big name sponsors including Under Armour, Rawlings, and Fanatics to lock in a deal with Judge, to go along with the recent announcement that will have him grace the cover of the MLB’s major video game, ‘The Show ‘18.’

According to SportsProMedia.com, outside of his deal with Fanatics, Judge has been waiting patiently until after the season to sign with any new sponsors, and after recently being named the American League’s rookie of the year, you can expect to see more of these deals come his way.

Senior director of sports marketing for PepsiCo, Justin Toman, commented on the deal emphasizing how Judge’s, “style of play embodies fun and excitement; [and] whether you are a Yankee fan or not, you have to watch him. How he handles himself makes him a great ambassador for our brand and company on and off the field; He’s one of the biggest rising stars in baseball and we’re looking forward to working together to engage baseball enthusiasts in new and unique ways next season and beyond.”

After 20 years of being the official soft drink to the MLB, Pepsi lost out to major competitor Coca-Cola, who is set to take over for the 2018 season. This hasn’t stopped the company’s aggressive strategy to stay relevant within the league, adding Judge to their roster of MLB team partnerships, which includes Judge’s Yankees.

After an impressive run to the American League Championship Series, the Yankees have been viewed by many as a favorite to compete for next year’s World Series, with Judge primed to play the role of team leader, a void for the organization since the retirement of the great Derek Jeter.
