The National Hockey League has extended its deal with SiriusXM through its 2028-2029 season.

Terms of the extension were not disclosed. But the NHL, SiriusXM, and SiriusXM Canada said subscribers across North America would continue to get access to every NHL game through the regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs, either at home, in their cars, or via the SXM app, which offers 32 team-specific channels.

For the first time, SiriusXM will produce and broadcast the exclusive national audio broadcast of the 2023 NHL All-Star Game from Sunrise, Florida, on February 4.

The league’s previous deal ran from the 2015-2016 through the 2021-2022 seasons.

  • Steve Kouleas calls play-by-play on the game, while Gord Stellick will serve as the color analyst. On-ice reporter Scott Laughlin will conduct interviews with both teams from the bench.
  • Sirius NHL Network Radio will provide comprehensive coverage of the entire NHL All-Star Weekend from Feb. 2 – 4.
  • Kouleas, Stellick, and Laughlin will also cover the NHL All-Star Skills competition on Feb. 3.

“SiriusXM has been an important provider of the NHL and has always delivered outstanding hockey coverage around the clock to dedicated fans across the U.S. and Canada,” said David Proper, the NHL’s senior executive vice president of media and international strategy, in a statement. “This renewal ensures SiriusXM listeners will never miss a moment of this exciting season and many more to come.”

Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s president and chief content officer, said the deal would continue to provide hockey fans with the only 24/7 NHL channel on audio.

“Live sports, coupled with great, in-depth sports talk, is one of the key elements of our programming and we are very pleased to be extending our content agreement with the NHL for many more years,” he said in a statement.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
