The Rockies unveiled their version of the City Connect jersey and its uniqueness figures to make it a big seller.
With a design that “honors the wild landscape and adventurous spirit of the region’s residents,” the jerseys are an ode to the state’s iconic green-mountain license plate.
The uniforms will debut on June 4 and will be worn for each Sunday home game at Coors Field.
Some of the details:
- Purple piping on the sleeves and pants represents the row of purple seats at Coors Field that sit one mile above sea level.
- The right sleeve features a yellow patch with “ROX,” the altitude of 5280, two black diamonds to represent skiing, and the longitude and latitude of Coors Field.
- Embroidered on the front of the jersey is “Welcome to Colorful Colorado,” which is featured on roadway signs at the border.
Colorado is the 11th MLB team to unveil a Nike City Connect jersey and the fourth this season, joining the Astros, who shattered sales records with their “Space City” release, the Nationals, and the Royals.
