Approaching $1M in NIL Earnings, Cavinder Twins Transfer to Miami

  • Haley and Hanna Cavinder, two of the most marketable athletes in college sports, are transferring from Fresno State.
  • Although, they said the decision was about reaching March Madness.

Haley and Hanna Cavinder, two of the most marketable athletes in college sports, are transferring from Fresno State to the University of Miami.

They boast an aggregate of about 5 million followers across social media channels, Front Office Sports previously calculated. Their estimated earnings are close to $1 million.

Both stressed, however, that NIL did not drive their decision to enter the transfer portal or choose Miami. “Honestly, it did not [factor in] at all,” Haley Cavinder told FOS.

“I know that a lot of people can assume it could be about NIL,” Hanna Cavinder said. Instead, she said it’s about winning — finding a place where the two could “have the best opportunity to get to the March Madness tournament.”

Hanna said the Canes’ previous success, the leadership of the coaching staff, and the university’s educational resources all drove the pair to The U. Haley did note that the city has “great opportunities” for all athletes’ NIL potential. “We are really excited for future business opportunities there,” she said.

The twins began capitalizing on the first day the NCAA allowed NIL activity — on July 1, their deal with Boost Mobile was plastered on a billboard in Times Square.

They now have an array of deals ranging from Champs to WWE. And in January, they launched an apparel company called Baseline Team with Fresno State alumni, for which they own a 25% stake.
