A soccer-focused tech startup backed by Cristiano Ronaldo is bringing aboard the team behind gamification platform Tokigames.
ZujuGP, the company founded by Singaporean billionaire and Valencia F.C. owner Peter Lim (estimated $2.6B) and his son Kiat, will hire all 14 founders and employees of Tokigames in an effort to integrate gamification features.
Kiat Lim launched a decentralized autonomous organization in February called CO92 DAO aimed at allowing soccer fans to own a stake in the sport.
Tokigames had raised $4.25 million in seed funding to create apps for ONE Esports and soccer-focused media company AFTV.
In addition to gaming, ZujuGP offers soccer merchandise and social connections for fans, as well as the ability to watch live games.
Ronaldo announced the project in October on his Instagram account, which boasts a world-leading 425 million followers.
