NCAA Final Most Bet-On Women’s Game in History

  • BetMGM reported it as their highest women’s betting handle ever.
  • 79% of the money was on South Carolina’s spread, while 72% of the money was on the under.
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The NCAA tournament championship game between UConn and South Carolina was the most watched women’s final since 2004 — and many of those viewers likely had some skin in the game.

The Gamecocks’ 64-49 victory over the Huskies was reportedly the most bet-on women’s game in BetMGM history.

Though the total amount of money wagered wasn’t disclosed, the betting outlet reported that 70% of the bets and 79% of the money were on South Carolina to cover the four-point spread as favorites.

But the public and sharps weren’t completely aligned.

70% of the bets were on the over, while 72% of the money was on the under. The South Carolina and under bets cashed with relative ease.

Prior to the tournament, the Gamecocks were the favorites to win the whole thing (+160).

Betting handle statistics are not yet available for that future.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
