Blades Brown is headed to the PGA Tour full-time in 2027 after becoming the youngest player ever to earn promotion from the second-tier Korn Ferry Tour—validating what he admits was a big risk leaving high school early and skipping college altogether.
“It definitely was a gamble, I would say,” Brown told Front Office Sports.
The golfer turned professional in December 2024 when he was 17, and wasn’t able to earn points on the Korn Ferry Tour until he turned 18 in May 2025. Brown finished ninth in the final standings of the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour season, well inside the top 20 that earned PGA Tour cards. At 19 years, 4 months, 20 days of age, Brown breaks the previous record held by Jason Day in 2007 (19 years, 11 months, 23 days).
Brown said he initially “didn’t understand exactly everything that was going on when it came to logistics” about earning his place on the PGA Tour.
“Like the points system, I had no idea that was a thing that we needed to accomplish,” he said. “But if I’m honest, I’m kind of glad I didn’t know because I was just so enamored by playing on the PGA Tour and playing on the Korn Ferry Tour. But I’m extremely excited with my decision and it’s starting to pay off.”
Since turning pro, Brown has earned $1.8 million in prize money: $1.18 million on the PGA Tour (playing in 19 events mostly through sponsor’s exemptions) and $621,936 on the Korn Ferry Tour (32 starts).
His best finish on the PGA Tour so far is third place at the Puerto Rico Open in March, when he earned $276,000. He was in the final group of the American Express with eventual winner Scottie Scheffler in January, but shot 74 in the final round and finished tied for 18th. Brown had two second-place finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour this season.
Brown has endorsement deals with Callaway, TravisMathew, Arcis Golf, and FloQast.
