Multiple reporters were caught on a hot mic discussing the attractiveness of Kings players during the team’s media day on Monday.
One of the women appeared to be referencing Sara Hodges—a reporter for CBS Sacramento—in the third person, and called it “cringe” that Ben Simmons had done the same during his media availability. “[He’s] lucky he’s so fine,” another woman said.
“He’s a good-looking dude,” the first reporter said. “I didn’t notice [before]—his skin’s so smooth. I was like, ‘damn, no tattoos?’”
In response to someone saying, “I thought Jordan Poole was your type,” a reporter replied, “I like light-skins I guess.”
Asked about Zach LaVine, a reporter answered: “Hella fine.” Another said, “I think his personality annoys the shit out of me, so that’s what makes him more fine.”
“Zach’s cute, but his personality fucking annoys me. He just seems like a prick,” a woman said.
The reporters started to rank the players’ attractiveness against each other, and wondered aloud about lotion routines for skincare.
Representatives for CBS Sacramento and the Kings did not respond to a request for comment.
The clip was posted by the “Kings Muse” account on X/Twitter, after catching it on the livestream of local NBC affiliate KCRA, and proceeded to go viral across social media. The King Muse account noted that the livestream has since been removed.
Simmons signed with the Kings on a one-year deal worth $3.5 million after sitting out of all last season. The former first overall pick appeared in 18 games off the bench for the Clippers in the 2024-25 season.
The 31-year-old LaVine is entering his third season in Sacramento after exercising a $49 million player option for the upcoming campaign.
