Colin Cowherd has acquired a minority stake in Ipswich Town F.C. in the English Premier League, Front Office Sports has learned.
Reached by phone, Cowherd confirmed that he became a part-owner in the team. His late mother, Patricia, was from Leicester, 120 miles away.
The stake amount, which came through one of the funds invested in the team, was not disclosed. Cowherd said he previously explored buying a stake in MLS teams, but nothing ever materialized.
A spokesperson for Ipswich said he wasn’t able to comment on any individual investment arrangements.
Cowherd hosts The Herd on FS1 and is a contributor to Fox NFL Kickoff. He founded The Volume—the podcast network whose current hosts include Sophie Cunningham, Richard Sherman, Nick Wright, and David Ross and Anthony Rizzo—in 2021.
Ipswich Town F.C. was valued at about $450 million following an ownership restructuring late last year.
Other minority owners in Ipswich include former Saints receiver Marques Colston, former Heat big man Udonis Haslem, and the singer Ed Sheeran. The club, which is based in Suffolk, England, was founded in 1884 and turned professional in 1936. It was relegated to the second-tier Championship in 2025, but promoted back to the EPL earlier this year.
Cowherd’s FS1 cohost, Jason McIntyre, is a minority owner in Liga MX’s Nexaca.
