Resellers Have US Open Ticket Prices Sky-High, One Week Before Grand Slam

But ticket prices didn’t change after Carlos Alcaraz announced his US Open return.

US Open ticket prices remain steep, with the main draw nearly a week away.

The average get-in ticket price to enter the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center for the 2026 US Open main draw is $288 on the secondary market, about 13% more than at the same point last year ($255), according to TicketData

The average get-in price for the women’s singles final (Saturday, Sept. 12) and men’s singles final (Sunday, Sept. 13) at Arthur Ashe Stadium is $510—also up 13% from last year.

One-day grounds pass tickets started for around $65–$135 at face value, depending on the date and time. Resale prices are much higher, but vary widely, with weeknight tickets the most affordable; the cheapest ticket for any main draw event is $157, for the night session at Arthur Ashe on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

The pricey tickets have persisted since the first batch of face-value tickets were released through the American Express presale in May. Many were scooped up by bots, contributing to the price hikes.

Fans posted screenshots on social media showing more than 400,000 people waiting online for tickets to the men’s singles final even though Arthur Ashe, the largest tennis stadium in the world, can hold 23,000 fans. This is despite Ticketmaster telling Front Office Sports in May that it blocks about 20 billion bots a month to limit automated reselling.

While price bumps are par for the course across many U.S. sporting events, especially as the demand for premium experiences has increased in recent years, the US Open differs from other U.S. sporting events because it has become a spectacle beyond the on-court action.

In addition to the hundreds of tennis matches played over the three weeks (including qualifying), the grounds are filled with concerts, activities, and a famous food and beverage scene, highlighted by the Honey Deuce cocktail—which the tournament sold nearly 750,000 of last year.

And the off-court pageantry has turned the US Open into a hub of influencer culture.

“Everyone wants to be there,” former tennis pro John Isner told FOS last month.

It also means that star power has little effect on ticket prices.

The announcement of the US Open return of Carlos Alcaraz, the defending men’s singles champion and No. 2 ranked player, had no effect on ticket prices. It’s also still unclear whether world No. 1 Jannik Sinner will be available as he deals with a knee injury that’s kept him out since Wimbledon.

Serena Williams, who made her singles return at Wimbledon after four years away from the game, will play at her home Slam, teaming with Alcaraz in the mixed doubles contest. She may also appear in the singles and women’s doubles. There is an open wild card slot in the women’s singles main draw, while the doubles wild cards have yet to be announced.

The US Open main draw starts Aug. 30, while qualifying begins Aug. 24. Several events start next week, including the revamped mixed doubles event from Aug. 24–25 featuring many of the best men’s and women’s singles players.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
