Curry’s Final Under Armour Sneaker Is Here. He Won’t Wear Them in Any Game

Steph Curry and Under Armour parted ways in November after a 12-year partnership.

Steph Curry’s final Under Armour signature shoe launched Friday—but the Warriors star will not be rocking the shoes on the court.

A source tells Front Office Sports that Curry has “no plans” to wear the Curry 13 in any NBA games. Under Armour announced the launch of the Curry 13 shoe Friday, the brand’s final signature shoe with the Warriors star.

Curry has not played since Jan. 30 due to a left knee injury, which will also cause him to miss Sunday’s All-Star Game

Under Armour announced it was parting ways with Curry on Nov. 13, ending a partnership dating back to 2013. The announcement included plans to launch the Curry 13 shoe in February as the star guard’s final shoe with the brand.

FOS reported that amid the separation, Curry, 37, kept all his intellectual property, allowing him to bring Curry Brand, the sub brand he launched alongside Under Armour, to other manufacturers if he chooses.

Curry wore Curry Brand shoes until Nov. 18, but has since worn several other brands, including Nike, Adidas, Puma, Anta, and Li-Ning. In January, he became the first athlete to wear On brand tennis shoes during pregame warm-ups.

“I’m a free agent,” Curry said in November. “I’m out here, new beginnings.”

Under Armour’s announcement of the signature shoes coincides with the release of GOAT, the animated film produced by Curry. He has promoted the movie release on his social media accounts, but has not promoted his Under Armour signature shoes.

Under Armour did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
