Taylor Swift Shaking Up Travis Kelce, Chiefs Prop Betting Market

Taylor Swift’s proximity to the NFL — via her support for Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs — is already having a profound effect on the industry, from merchandise sales and TV viewership, to ticket markets.

With the pop sensation set to attend another Chiefs game, as first reported by Front Office Sports, sportsbooks are getting in on the hype.

Shortly following the news of Swift’s anticipated appearance at MetLife Stadium, FanDuel Sportsbook released a collection of Swift-themed Kelce and Chiefs props.

Wagers include “FriENDZONE: Travis Kelce to NOT Score a TD” at +130 odds, “Seeing Red: Chiefs to Win by 22+” at +300, and “Seemingly Ranch: Travis Kelce Last TD Scorer” at +650.

“Fans are excited about the Swift and Kelce story, and the new bets provide another fun way for our customers to engage with this weekend’s Chiefs game,” a FanDuel spokesperson told Front Office Sports. “We typically see a lot of engagement on Chiefs games, and last week was no exception.”

Last Sunday’s Bears-Chiefs game saw a 247% increase in number of bets and a 533% increase in handle on Kelce props compared to Kansas City’s matchup with Jacksonville a week prior.

DraftKings released its own set of Kelce-Swift themed bets — though with the twist of offering combined props with Philadelphia Eagles RB D’Andre Swift (who happens to be teammates with Kelce’s brother, Jason).

Fun bets or not, the books could be trying to cash in on Swift-Kelce Mania.

Kelce’s current anytime touchdown scorer odds sit around -135, whereas Action Network estimates that the fair value for Kelce to score a TD in any given game should be +102. Kelce also has the highest receiving yards prop for either team at around 73.5 — even though the last time he hit that number in the regular season was Week 16 of last season.

Either way, it seems to be working: Action Network reports to FOS that Kelce prop bets increased 42% from from Week 2 to Week 3, and that Kelce prop betting is up 38% over last regular season’s average.
