WWE Signs Pat McAfee To Multiyear Contract Extension

  • Amazon also wants McAfee for an alternate ‘Thursday Night Football’ telecast.
  • Sports viewers could see McAfee on Thursday, Friday nights this fall.
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Sports TV viewers could be seeing a lot of Pat McAfee this fall.

The WWE said Thursday it had signed a multiyear contract extension with the former Indianapolis Colts punter turned sports personality.

Besides memorably entering the ring himself at WrestleMania in April, McAfee has appeared as an analyst alongside Michael Cole on “Friday Night SmackDown” since April 2021.

Amazon Prime Video also wants McAfee to host an alternate telecast of “Thursday Night Football” this fall, said sources.

If the 35-year old talk show host scores the Amazon deal on top of his WWE contract, he could appear on both Thursday and Friday nights this fall.

The WWE said in a statement his new contract “will see McAfee entertaining the WWE Universe for years to come.”
