The Highest-Paid Lightweight Boxers

As boxing deals with changes in media rights and business structure, the biggest names continue to bring in the most money. The lightweight division carries some of the highest earners among all boxers due to their popularity and skill.

Gervonta “Tank” Davis has earned $42 million in his career, making him the highest-earning lightweight boxer. He’s fresh off a knockout win against Frank Martin where he made a guaranteed $2 million. 

Davis is undefeated at 30-0 since turning professional in 2013. He’s knocked out 28 of his 30 opponents.

Following in second with $37 million in career earnings is Ryan Garcia. He’s been fighting professionally since 2016, earning a record of 25-1. Garcia faces many questions after his last fight against Devin Haney, but he’s been an unquestioned force in the lightweight division since his debut.

Devin Haney is third in career earnings with $10.3 million in his nine-year professional career. The 25-year-old is the current WBC World Super Lightweight champion. He earned $3 million against Jorge Linares in May 2021, his biggest single-fight payout.

Two lightweights are tied for fourth with $10 million in career earnings: Vasiliy Lomachenko and Richard Commey.

Lomachenko holds the belt as the IBF World Lightweight champion. He’s 18-3 and has never been stopped in his career.

Comney debuted professionally in 2011 and won his first six fights. He earned a guaranteed $250K in his fight against Lomachenko in 2021.

The wealth among the highest-earning lightweights is heavily concentrated at the top. Together, Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia have earned $79 million in their careers. They’ve earned $12 million more than the other boxers on the list combined.
