One of ESPN’s most tenured personalities will be staying on.
The Worldwide Leader has signed Linda Cohn to a new, multiyear deal that will see her remain a “SportsCenter” anchor and a contributor to the network’s NHL coverage.
Cohn recently celebrated her 30th anniversary as an on-air talent for ESPN, as her first episode hosting “SportsCenter” was on July 11, 1992.
In 2016, she was recognized for her 5,000th episode on the program — the most for any anchor in ESPN’s history. One year later, she was inducted into the National Sports Media Association Hall of Fame.
For her part, Cohn seems pleased to be the face of ESPN’s flagship program. The new contract ensures she’ll continue to do so for years to come.
“Hosting ‘SportsCenter’ is huge – it never gets old for me,” said Cohn. “It’s what the viewers connect me with the most, and that’s a good thing.”
