The third NFL Flag Championships this past weekend reached 14.3 million unique viewers across ABC, ESPN, and other Disney-owned platforms, according to Nielsen Big Data + Panel.

The multiday event brought together championship teams from regional tournaments hosted by all 32 NFL clubs, as well as international squads from 12 countries. All told, more than 350 girls’ and boys’ teams competed for titles in 8U through high school divisions.

A majority of games were broadcast on Disney-owned networks, including ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC; all games, meanwhile, were available to stream on the ESPN App and NFL+.

ESPN told Front Office Sports that the girls high school division title game, which kicked off at 5 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, July 26, drew 1.12 million viewers across all platforms, making it the most-watched NFL Flag game on record. While ABC brought in the most viewers, the game also aired on ESPN Deportes, Disney+, Disney XD, Disney Channel, and the NFL Network. It peaked at 1.34 million viewers, the network said.

The broader girls and boys championship game window—between 4 and 6 p.m. Eastern on July 26—averaged 882,000 viewers, a 42% increase from last year’s championship games, which aired on comparable networks.

A quarterfinal matchup that aired on ABC on Saturday, July 25 drew 742,000 viewers, making it the second most-watched NFL Flag game on record.

NFL Flag is the largest youth flag football organization in the country, with more than 2,000 leagues and 830,000 participating athletes across all 50 states.

ESPN reporter and host Taylor Tannebaum, who worked the games in Westfield, Indiana, told FOS there was “1,000% a sense of palpable growth between this year and last year.” She pointed to larger crowds on the ground, expanded production capabilities (including mic’ed up athletes), and visits from NFL figures like Colts head coach Shane Steichen

After three days of competition, beginning with the Round of 16 on Friday, Sunday’s events delivered the largest audience in NFL FLAG Championships history. Overall, average viewership across the event increased 50% compared to 2025.
