Fundamentals: ESPN’s Nabil Karim On New Quibi Show

Welcome to the latest episode of Fundamentals with Ian Thomas, a Front Office Sports digital show featuring leading operators and voices of the sport industry.

Today, we welcome Nabil Karim of ESPN — and the host of “The Replay” on Quibi — to discuss his role in a world without live games, along with being one of the faces of the highly-publicized mobile-only streaming service.

On Fundamentals, FOS Editor Ian Thomas interviews business leaders and subject experts to break down the fundamental topics and trends driving the sports industry.

More on today’s guest….

Nabil Karim joined ESPN in May 2019 as an anchor on SportsCenter.

Prior to joining ESPN, Karim had been an anchor and reporter on Canada’s TSN since 2011. He hosted TSN’s news and information show SportsCentre and covered a variety of major sporting events including the 2013 and 2014 IIHF World Junior Championships and the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Karim also hosted TSN’s coverage of NCAA March Madness, the 2016 FIBA Americas, and TSN’s live coverage of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games and Rio 2016 Olympic Summer Games. A native of Vancouver, Karim graduated from Simon Fraser University where he majored in Communications and received a broadcast journalism degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
