Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are putting down roots in Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, the team held a ceremonial groundbreaking on the 14-acre site in El Segundo, California, that will serve as the organization’s new corporate headquarters and training facility.

The state-of-the-art complex will feature direct access to three natural-grass fields from player and coaching spaces, as well as a rooftop hospitality club, full eSports gaming and content studios, and a 3,100-foot media center.

In March, Sonnenblick-Eichner Company announced that it had arranged $276 million in construction costs and permanent financing for the project.

The Chargers left San Diego for Los Angeles in 2017 and have been working out of temporary headquarters in Costa Mesa. The new site is 7 miles from the team’s SoFi Stadium and is expected to be completed in July 2024.

“It’s been five years in the making,” team owner Dean Spanos told reporters. “We finally have our home for the future. This is our home now.”
