“The Match,” the celebrity golf event for charity that initially launched as a pay-per-view showdown in 2018, will feature Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley against Steph Curry and Peyton Manning in its third rendition.

Turner-owned network TNT will exclusively televise the event, to be held at 3 p.m. ET on Nov. 27 at Stone Canyon Golf Club in Oro Valley, Ariz. Bleacher Report will provide its own exclusive content on the B/R app.

Mickelson owns Stone Canyon along with five other courses.

The players will be mic’d up during the live event and have the ability to communicate directly with each other and with the broadcast commentators — Barkley was a commentator for “The Match II.” The “Cart Cam,” a camera mounted on the golf cart, will again be featured.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities will be among the recipients of donations from the event. Curry previously donated six years’ worth of funding for Howard University to start a Division I golf program; the school had previously competed in golf in Division II before its team was disbanded decades ago.

“Last year I had the incredible opportunity to play a small role in the rich history of Howard University through the game of golf,” Curry, who is widely known to be an elite golfer, said in an announcement. “I truly believe an investment in HBCUs is an investment in our future and I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to support these great institutions alongside some of my favorite players … and Chuck.”

“’The Match II’ took place in May and raised $20 million for COVID-19 relief efforts. The event featured Mickelson, Manning, Tiger Woods and Tom Brady.

“‘Capital One’s The Match’ in May was such a memorable experience for me — not just competing against rivals and friends but, more importantly, contributing to COVID-19 and food insecurity relief efforts,” Manning said. “I’m proud of the work the PeyBack Foundation has done to support HBCU students in both Louisiana and Tennessee, and I’m looking forward to helping raise additional funding and awareness for HBCUs.”

Michelob ULTRA has signed on as ‘The Match III’s’ presenting sponsor. DraftKings — which recently inked a content partnership with Turner Sports for all non-NBA content — will be the event’s “content integration partner.” AT&T, Callaway Golf, E-Z-GO, Wheels Up and Curry’s OXIGEN Water will be associate sponsors; Autotrader will be the presenting sponsor of pre-show coverage.
