American Sports Viewers Are Changing Their Streaming Habits

The continued quarantine in the United States has given people plenty of time to stream their favorite programs and update their entertainment setup, as a whole. Even with a pause in live events until very recently, American sports fans have spared no expense in making sure they can see their favorite teams play, regardless of which network is carrying the game.

Plus, in the meantime, they’ve had plenty of time to catch up on their favorite series with services like Netflix and Hulu.

In Grabyo’s latest report “2020 At Home Video Trends,” readers can get the inside scoop on the future of cord cutting, paid streaming, and more when it comes to American sports fans.

Key insights include the following:

-69% of sports fans would now be willing to spend over $10 per month on an online streaming service that carries live sports and highlights.

-More than 25% of U.S. consumers now pay for three or more streaming services.

-U.S. consumers have increased spending by more than $1 billion per month on streaming.

-Online streaming services now have a 65% penetration rate in those aged 50-64 in the U.S.
