ESPN is adding a new sideline reporter to its NBA coverage this season.
Alyssa Lang will join Lisa Salters, Katie George, Jorge Sedano, and Malika Andrews in the rotation this year, an ESPN spokesperson confirmed exclusively to Front Office Sports. Lang has been a host and reporter for ESPN and SEC Network since 2018, and brings an upbeat presence to the job.
Lang’s first assignment in the NBA is this Sunday’s preseason matchup with the Cavaliers playing at the Celtics, working on a broadcast team with Mark Jones and Doris Burke.
ESPN previously announced that Andrews will be returning to the sideline reporter role after a couple seasons away as part of a new contract extension with the network. Andrews also hosts NBA Today and NBA Countdown, but the latter will have fewer dates this season, particularly during the playoffs, as ESPN begins licensing the iconic Inside the NBA from TNT.
Cassidy Hubbarth left ESPN earlier this year to become the top sideline reporter on Amazon’s new NBA package.
