‘Bussin’ With the Boys’ Lands Blockbuster FanDuel Deal After Barstool Exit

“Bussin’ With the Boys” will enter into a massive sponsorship deal with FanDuel after leaving Barstool Sports.

There is more clarity on Bussin’ With the Boys exit from Barstool Sports.

The podcast’s hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan—both ex-NFL players—announced earlier this week they were leaving the platform to be an independent show with an unspecified sponsor.

Several sources told Front Office Sports that the big sponsor is FanDuel. A rep for the sportsbook declined to comment.

By all accounts, the deal was quite lavish.

On the podcast Tuesday, Compton said the duo wanted to stay at Barstool but had received a “massive” outside offer. He said they would have been open to a 10–20% “hometown discount” to remain there, but that Barstool founder Dave Portnoy could not get within 40%. “It was tough,” Compton said.

“We feel very lucky, and I feel very humbled to be a part of an experience at a company like Barstool for as long as we have been,” Lewan said.

Portnoy revealed last week on The Unnamed Show, which he cohosts with Kirk Minihane and former NHL defenseman Ryan Whitney, that Bussin’ would be leaving Barstool. Portnoy likened the Barstool platform to Saturday Night Live in that it has served as the springboard for many big stars who later found big outside offers—including Jenna Marbles, Pat McAfee, and Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper—and replenishes after they depart.

Portnoy bought the company back from Penn Entertainment for $1 in 2023 after previously partnering with The Chernin Group to sell it to Penn for more than $500 million. After the Super Bowl last year, Barstool entered into a wide-ranging sponsorship deal with DraftKings.

The Bussin’ hosts own their IP and will have a seamless transition in which they will not have to restart their podcast or YouTube feeds from scratch. During the presidential campaign in October, Donald Trump appeared on their show for nearly an hour.

FanDuel has been busy adding sponsorship deals of late, recently launching a new campaign with Peyton and Eli Manning. The Mannings had previously endorsed Caesars Sportsbook.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
