This high level of competition and overall success is showcased by the lucrative salaries of top players.
Erling Haaland is the highest-paid Premier League player by average annual value, taking home $36.6 million annually in his base salary as well as a hefty $24.4 million bonus. In 2023, Haaland broke the single-season Premier League goal record netting 36 goals and helping Manchester City win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
Haaland signed a record-setting contract in January 2025, despite the club’s performance struggles.
Second place at $27.9 million per year is a tie between Haaland’s teammate Kevin De Bruyne and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah. De Bruyne, the Manchester City midfielder, has led the Premier League in assists over the last decade. He is set to leave the club after this season.
Salah led the Premier League in goals (29) and assists (18) in 2024-25 while leading Liverpool to their second Premier League title in five years. He signed a two-year extension in April following tense negotiations with the club throughout the season.
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro and Liverpool defender Virgil van Djik are tied for fourth, both earning $24.4 million annually. Both players have two years remaining on their contracts after van Djik signed an extension with Liverpool in April 2025 as his contract was set to expire.
Three players tie for sitxh place. Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, and Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva of Manchester City all earn $20.9 million annually.
Seven players from Manchester United and Manchester City are among the top 10 highest-paid in the Premier League.
