NFL Network Is About to Change Forever

The NFL Network as you know it has an expiration date, and it is coming faster than anyone inside the building expected. ESPN officially takes over on April 1st, and the talent, the shows and the entire production structure are about to look very different.

The question nobody has answered yet is who survives the merger. Ian Rapaport’s contract is up in May. Good Morning Football’s future is uncertain. The NFL Draft coverage that has run on NFL Network for 20 years is suddenly up for grabs.

Front Office Sports Tuned In newsletter author Mike McCarthy has been deep in the reporting on all of it, and what he is hearing will surprise you. And then there is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The NFL is eyeing a brand new game that would make the holiday stretch seven games over nine days. Roger Goodell is about to conjure another rights deal out of thin air, and Mike has a strong opinion on exactly which streamer is going to land it.
