Episode 5: Shawn Johnson East

After winning four Olympic medals at the age of 16, Shawn Johnson East didn’t expect to be living a more chaotic life by the time she was 30.
Yet here she is with a lifetime of achievements that include a New York Times best-selling book, a career in broadcasting, a mirrorball trophy from Dancing with the Stars, and about a dozen businesses she manages with her husband, Andrew East.

Not to mention two children under the age of two — the stars and subjects of their YouTube channel and podcast, The East Family.

Through all of the achievements in her second act, one characteristic remains consistent: Despite her Olympics success, Shawn is far from perfect…and she’s done trying to be.

Now she’s on a mission to show the rest of the world it’s OK to be imperfect and to fail before achieving success.
