5 Reasons You Should be at Hashtag Sports this Summer

Over the three days, over 1,200 attendees will have the opportunity to hear from more than 175 speakers.

For three days at the end of June, Times Square will be invaded by some of the best and brightest that sports business has to offer. Over the three days, over 1,200 attendees will have the opportunity to hear from more than 175 speakers at the forefront of some of the largest sports entities in the world.

Multiple breakout sessions or track themes will allow attendees the chance to learn from executives in areas that range from content and distribution to fan engagement and even into evolving categories such as virtual and augmented reality.

“I was really impressed with [the inaugural Hashtag Sports]. All the right people in one place. Amazing job by the Hashtag Sports team.” — Will Yoder, Sports Partnerships at Instagram

Hashtag Sports aims to help break the code on how to manage a presence in a media landscape that is becoming increasingly fragmented, as well as how to approach different generations of fans that are now playing in the digital space.

The Reasons You Should Be There

  1. Location

New York City. While it hardly needs any explanation, as home to some of the largest sports organization and home to league offices, NYC is a sports town. Outside of sports, there is an endless amount of entertainment options.

Not only has Hashtag Sports picked a prime location, the venues within NYC are also top notch. Both the TimesCenter and Microsoft Technology Center are premiere venues conveniently located in Times Square.

2. Content, Content, Content

With nine different track themes, not only will you not have a hard time finding content that interests you, you may have a hard time deciding which tracks you want to explore. Conferences are learning experiences, and Hashtag Sports has assembled a great learning opportunity no matter your role in the industry.

Hashtag Sports offered the following on what attendees should expect speakers to address throughout the sessions. “ Today’s media landscape is increasingly fragmented and there’s a ton of mystery surrounding how to crack the mobile-first and multi-platform fans that constitute Gen Z/ Millennials. Hashtag Sports specializes in thought leadership that cracks this code.”

For more information on the track themes click HERE.

3. Speaker List

As I mentioned the extensive content offering above, great content ideas are only as good as the speakers that are brought in on each subject. Well if you could pick an all-star lineup of speakers in key roles throughout the sports industry, you would likely end up with the list set to speak at Hashtag Sports.

Attendees will get to experience three days of celebrating and recognizing companies that have created innovative solutions to this evolving puzzle. Not only are these speakers successful, but they bring a certain level of freshness, as they aren’t the names you see at other events.

Taking place in the heart of New York City at the TimesCenter and Microsoft Technology Center, Hashtag Sports has found a location fitting for the lineup of speakers, which you can find by clicking HERE.

You can find the most up-to-date schedule HERE.

4. Networking Opportunities

Hashtag Sports recognizes the importance of making sure there is ample time to network with other attendees, and have organized networking events throughout the conference. With the sheer amount of people that are set to attend, these events are sure to lead to many new connections.

With nightly scheduled networking sessions, Hashtag Sports is one of the most efficient and effective weeks for networking with some of the biggets players in sports business.

5. Startup Program

With a day three track that focuses solely on startups, Hashtag Sports is the place to be for sports industry startups. In 2016, over 100 startup companies were in attendance and were able to raise over $280 million in post-event funding. The conference will also feature startup networking events, mentor sessions and a discounted registration rate.
