Indy 500 Champ on the Closest Finish Ever

Felix Rosenqvist just won the 110th Indy 500 by 23.3 milliseconds, the closest finish in the history of the race, taking home a record $4.3 million purse and becoming only the third Swedish driver to win it. He sits down with Front Office Sports while there are still 700 unread messages on his phone.

The race had 70 lead changes across 200 laps, and Rosenqvist had to essentially win it twice. Meyer Shank Racing has now beaten Penske and Ganassi twice at Indianapolis, and the question of what makes a small team capable of doing that at the biggest race in the world has a very specific answer. The sponsor calls are already coming in, and Rosenqvist has a promise to keep to his sister in Sweden.

Formula One gets the Netflix documentaries and the celebrity attention, but IndyCar just delivered one of the greatest finishes in motorsports history. Rosenqvist makes his pitch to casual F1 fans, explains the sacred milk tradition in detail, reveals which famous names slid into his DMs after the win, and shares the personal news that made this already historic month completely impossible to top.
