For this year’s 2024 Boston Marathon, 33,058 runners with qualifying times applied, but due to Boston’s limited field size, 11,039 qualifiers were turned away. Boston Marathon sponsors like Dick’s Sporting Goods only get a handful of entries to give out to runners.
Front Office Sports has teamed up with Dick’s Sporting Goods and the Boston Athletic Association to spotlight the perseverance of three inspiring runners who qualified for the marathon—but did not meet their respective cutoff times.
Together, we granted three lucky Boston locals the chance to chase their dreams with a coveted bib.
