Tennis legend Serena Williams has joined the business advisory firm Consello Group as a senior advisor. She is the third retired star athlete to join the Consello Group after former NFL star Tom Brady and former NBA star Pau Gasol joined the firm last year.

Williams retired from tennis last year to focus on motherhood and her business pursuits, including her ownership stake in NWSL club Angel City and the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion has a Forbes estimated net worth of $220 million. Her Serena Ventures private equity firm has invested in over 60 startups, including the at-home AI fitness company Tonal and the kid-focused social media app Zigazoo

Consello Group works with its clients in the banking industry to provide financial services related to M&A advisory, investment banking, digital assets, and business development. Declan Kelly, former CEO of the PR and consulting firm Teneo, founded the Consello Group in  2022 before adding Brady as a partner and Gasol to its advisory board.

“[Consello] is excited and honored to have Serena join our team and we know she will bring significant value to our clients on both the financial advisory side, as well as our private equity portfolio companies,” Consello Group partner Mindy Grossman said in a statement.
